GPS Race - 17th February 08

Well done to all those who took part in the first GPS Club Race. A total of 50 racers battled it out in the sunshine on Clunie in 10 categories. A big thanks to Glenshee Ski Centre for their letting us use the slope, running the Sunnyside Chair and Clunie Tow to save us all from walking and providing some prizes. Also thanks to all the parents and other helpers who made the race possible.

A great day was had by all. It was excellent to see how well everyone was skiing (including the over 20's!!). Full results can be found on the GPS Racing page and don't forget to check out the photos on the new GPS photos page!! (see links on the right)

Also, a last big thank you to Colin Reid at K2 & Baw Bags for sponsoring the race and providing us with some excellent prizes.

GPS TRAINING / CLUB RACE - 16th/17th FEBRUARY 08

Well the snow's still hanging on in there. Due to the good weather this week, there's been very little snow loss and looking ahead to a great forecast for the weekend, some training will go ahead and incorporate as follows:


Saturday 16th February 08

Masters Group - CANCELLED

Group Svindal - will run with Lauren and Ben from 9.30am - 12.00pm and 12.30pm-3.00pm


Sunday 17th February 08 - GPS INAUGURAL CLUB RACE

All Groups will run as normal with their instructors and the sessions will incorporate the first GPS club race. Times as follows:

Race Registration - from 10.00am in the Sport Anyway building. Groups and all other racers will be leaving the building at 11.00am so make sure you're early enough to get registered!

The race will be open to all club members and there will be categories for the following:

Bairns (DoB 1997 and later)

Children 1 (DoB 1995 and 1996)

Children 2 (DoB 1993 and 1994)

Juniors (DoB 1988 - 1992 inclusive)

Open (Dob 1987 and earlier)

Prize giving will be in the Cafe following the racing!!

All helpers will be welcomed! I'd suggest having some food before leaving for racing as the race will take place over lunchtime until approximately 3.00pm and access to the Cafe might not be available.

Due to the still variable conditions, please make sure you check back with the website to see if the training will be running.

Well the snow is still hanging on and so the programme for the weekends training is as follows:

Saturday 9th February

Masters Group - will run 9.30am - 12.00pm

Sunday 10th February

All Groups will run.

Groups Klammer & Zurbriggen, Tomba, Maier 1 & Maier 2 - will run 9.30am - 12.00pm and 12.30pm - 3.00pm

Group Miller - will run 10.00am-11.30am and 12.30pm-2.00pm

Please note that due to the mild weather conditions training may have to be cancelled at short notice. Please check back here for updates before you travel.
