Well we've made it to the end of the season and it's been one with some great snow.
So we've one more Sunday to go and all groups will run as normal. Please make sure you're at the Sport Anyway building with your lift pass 10 minutes before your session (9.20am) so you're there and ready for registration and to meet your coach.
As this is the last week, I will be in the Sport Anyway building at 3pm for about half an hour to collect as many gilets as possible. Can you please pop back in when you finish your session and hand in your gilet to me. I will have a list to cross you off so make sure you hand it in to me personally. If I'm not there, please do not just leave your gilet in the hut. You can give it to your club rep and they will get it back to me.
Cheers

GPS UPDATE
Well folks, this is just to update you all on a few things which are happening over the next few weeks.
This weekend sees the last session for Block 2 for the Sunday groups. After this there will then be a 2 week break before the start of the next block. However, due to school holidays the third block will only be for 2 weeks starting on 13th/14th March 2010.
As the Saturday blocks are only on week 2 this week, they will also have a 2 week break after this weekend and then finish their block the two weeks starting 13th March.
This Weekend
Saturday's Group Raich this week will be run by our Freestyle expert coaches who will focus the session on the techniques and skills behind real freestyle skiing. In addition to Group Raich trainees the session is also open as a one off to any trainees from Groups Klammer, Zurbriggen and Mickel at a cost of £15.00 for the afternoon. Cash only on the day, payable to Ben before the session. Any trainees from these groups wishing to take part should arrive at 12.15pm at the Sport Anyway building.
Sunday
All groups will be running as normal but an extra treat is in store for everyone. Our Freestyle experts will be putting on a demonstration during the day and each group will get to go over to the demonstration to watch this fantastic display.
One final heads up is a date for your diary. It is planned that on Saturday 6th March GPS will run a night race on Claybokie followed by a prize giving and dinner in the Cafe. All GPS club members can take part and it would be great to see as many of you as possible. We will need numbers before the event and there will be a charge for the dinner. More details to follow...

GPS Race Report
Hello Everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed the race on Sunday, even though the sunshine didn’t stay out for that long. The results in category order can be found by clicking HERE. It was really good to see everyone giving it a go, even those that didn’t seem so keen at first, and there were some very good performances by those who have been training for a number of years. There was also a great turnout from other club members, we had nearly 70 racers through the course.
A big thank you to Ben for pisting the course and freezing at the start gate, Becs for doing the timing, Mags, Angie, Christine and Farky for helping to set the course up and Stuart for being our solitary gate keeper. GPS would also like to thank the following who donated prizes: Mike Grant, Island Leisure Lodges, Glenshee Ski Centre and Craigdon Mountain Sports.
For those of you who have got the racing bug, the John Clark/East of Scotland Childrens Championships will be held at Glenshee over the weekend 6/7 February. It is open to all, even those who are not registered for seed points. Please find the entry forms on the Snowsport Scotland site.
For those a bit older, the Scottish Masters Championships will be held over the weekend of 13/14 March, you need to be over 30, and there is sometimes a free training day on the Friday, this is a very relaxed event open to all and is good fun. Again look on the Snowsports Scotland site for more info.
The second block of training starts on Sunday, of which more news will follow this week. If you still have a race bib from Sunday, please can you return it on Sunday morning to Becs at registration.

GPS Training - 9th/10th January 2010
Hi All
Well, the snow's still there so we're good to go this weekend.
ALL groups will run on Saturday and Sunday. Please arrive at the Sport Anyway building by 9.20am with your lift pass ready to go skiing. (Group Raich should meet at the building at 12.20pm on Saturday).
Please check the White board in the hut as there have been some changes to the groups.
For those interested, the Lecht Bairns race is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd January. Bairns are those born 1999 or later and you don't have to be BASS registered to take part. If there's enough interest, GPS will look to send a coach to support the skiers. More information on this will be available at the weekend but if you're wanting to enter you should do this as soon as possible. You don't have to pay any money until the day but they need to know numbers by this weekend. Click here for the Snowsport Scotland site to find the entry form.
Cheers
