GPS Race Report

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed the race on Sunday, even though the sunshine didn’t stay out for that long. The results in category order can be found by clicking HERE. It was really good to see everyone giving it a go, even those that didn’t seem so keen at first, and there were some very good performances by those who have been training for a number of years. There was also a great turnout from other club members, we had nearly 70 racers through the course.

A big thank you to Ben for pisting the course and freezing at the start gate, Becs for doing the timing, Mags, Angie, Christine and Farky for helping to set the course up and Stuart for being our solitary gate keeper. GPS would also like to thank the following who donated prizes: Mike Grant, Island Leisure Lodges, Glenshee Ski Centre and Craigdon Mountain Sports.

For those of you who have got the racing bug, the John Clark/East of Scotland Childrens Championships will be held at Glenshee over the weekend 6/7 February. It is open to all, even those who are not registered for seed points. Please find the entry forms on the Snowsport Scotland site.

For those a bit older, the Scottish Masters Championships will be held over the weekend of 13/14 March, you need to be over 30, and there is sometimes a free training day on the Friday, this is a very relaxed event open to all and is good fun. Again look on the Snowsports Scotland site for more info.

The second block of training starts on Sunday, of which more news will follow this week. If you still have a race bib from Sunday, please can you return it on Sunday morning to Becs at registration.

Anyone planning on racing must ensure they register and collect a bib or they won't be eligible to race.

Trainees - your morning session will run as normal from 9.30am so ensure you have your lift pass and are ready to go prior to race registration. Please wear your race bib underneath your gilet for the morning session. Your gilet and your race bib are your responsibility for the day so please take care of them both.

GPS Training - 9th/10th January 2010

Hi All

Well, the snow's still there so we're good to go this weekend.

ALL groups will run on Saturday and Sunday. Please arrive at the Sport Anyway building by 9.20am with your lift pass ready to go skiing. (Group Raich should meet at the building at 12.20pm on Saturday).

Please check the White board in the hut as there have been some changes to the groups.

For those interested, the Lecht Bairns race is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd January. Bairns are those born 1999 or later and you don't have to be BASS registered to take part. If there's enough interest, GPS will look to send a coach to support the skiers. More information on this will be available at the weekend but if you're wanting to enter you should do this as soon as possible. You don't have to pay any money until the day but they need to know numbers by this weekend. Click here for the Snowsport Scotland site to find the entry form.

Cheers
