GPS Race Report

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed the race on Sunday, even though the sunshine didn’t stay out for that long. The results in category order can be found by clicking HERE. It was really good to see everyone giving it a go, even those that didn’t seem so keen at first, and there were some very good performances by those who have been training for a number of years. There was also a great turnout from other club members, we had nearly 70 racers through the course.

A big thank you to Ben for pisting the course and freezing at the start gate, Becs for doing the timing, Mags, Angie, Christine and Farky for helping to set the course up and Stuart for being our solitary gate keeper. GPS would also like to thank the following who donated prizes: Mike Grant, Island Leisure Lodges, Glenshee Ski Centre and Craigdon Mountain Sports.

For those of you who have got the racing bug, the John Clark/East of Scotland Childrens Championships will be held at Glenshee over the weekend 6/7 February. It is open to all, even those who are not registered for seed points. Please find the entry forms on the Snowsport Scotland site.

For those a bit older, the Scottish Masters Championships will be held over the weekend of 13/14 March, you need to be over 30, and there is sometimes a free training day on the Friday, this is a very relaxed event open to all and is good fun. Again look on the Snowsports Scotland site for more info.

The second block of training starts on Sunday, of which more news will follow this week. If you still have a race bib from Sunday, please can you return it on Sunday morning to Becs at registration.

I did race on that day, my first time ever, in the open male. My name is not on the list? Can you let me know why this is? I only went once, directly after Hannah Oosterhoorn. Thanks,
Erwin Oosterhoorn
